Shannon began as a Marketing Coordinator for municipalities and environmental agencies. In those roles, she developed and managed the launch of multi-channel campaigns and was accountable for strategy, planning, media buys, KPIs, related metrics, and reporting. As the digital space became more prevalent and more focus was placed on increasing website traffic, Shannon turned her attention to learning everything Google.
Shannon’s background and curious mind led her to learn how Google algorithms use keywords to categorize and rank websites - learning that Google makes all of that data available to be mined and used to tell a digital story; and to build and engage a community. This data-driven approach to marketing resonated with Shannon and inspired her to learn more about SEO. She honed her skills in a traditional SEO agency doing keyword research and page assignments then progressed to SEO and Content Manager for a high volume cannabis Ecommerce company where her role focussed on keyword strategy and optimized content. These experiences have led Shannon to believe that a beautiful, fast website can only succeed if it is built on top of a well-developed SEO strategy and every marketing decision should be supported by data.
When Shannon isn’t optimizing websites you can find her at the barn with her pony getting dirty and being active in the hills of San Diego county.
