Falmouth VIPS

Providing enriching and easy-to-access volunteer opportunities that connect Falmouth volunteers with K-12 students.

The problem

When we were approached to build a new website for Falmouth VIPS, it had been years since they had undergone a redesign. Some of the main concerns from the leadership team regarding the website were:

  1. Frustration with the current Wix platform
  2. Outdated content and messaging throughout the site
  3. A clunky donation experience

Our solution

For this project we started from scratch. We redesigned their brand identity, rewrote all of the content and messaging on the site, moved them to WordPress, and introduced a new donation platform, GiveButter, on the site.

The highlights

New brand identity

We started the project off by redesigning the organization’s brand identity. We felt as though it would be difficult to transform the organization’s digital image without first transforming the brand.

New sub-brands

We also decided to design two sub-brands for the organization’s keystone yearly events to help with marketing efforts.

Fresh messaging and content

As part of the project, 118Group was responsible for fully auditing and rewriting the organization’s website content. The existing website presented large blocks of unapproachable text that wasn’t particularly inspiring or motivating. The new content we developed for the site is meant to inspire action while being easy to scan and read.

Upgraded donor experience

One of the major focuses of this project was to introduce a new donation experience to the website. The old website was redirecting users to PayPal to capture donations.

We helped guide the leadership at Falmouth VIPS to a new tool that would work for them, ultimately choosing GiveButter to capture donations. Rather than redirecting users to a stale PayPal page, now we are better able to control the donation experience.

Streamlined tech ecosystem

A major part of this web project was redefining Falmouth VIPS’s relationship with its technology. Before the project, administrators were constantly responsible for manually moving data between their different systems. After a couple of workshops and the introduction of new tools, they now have a streamlined ecosystem that does the work for them!

Client Experience

“We worked with 118Group to establish ourselves as an organization – get a logo, build a brand, create a website. I can’t imagine a better team to work with.

They were consistently highly communicative, eager to learn about my organization, patient with me and all of my questions, and went above and beyond to make sure our network was pleased. We’re a unique organization and explaining what we do can be tricky, but team 118 nailed it. I’m so proud of what they have built for us and I get compliments REGULARLY from others checking out our website.

Any time I have a question or if I need support, they respond immediately and with great clarity. If you have no idea what you’re doing when it comes to website design, you are in the BEST of hands with team 118Group. I recommend them to any and every organization that asks.”
