When we were approached to build a new website for Falmouth VIPS, it had been years since they had undergone a redesign. Some of the main concerns from the leadership team regarding the website were:
We started the project off by redesigning the organization’s brand identity. We felt as though it would be difficult to transform the organization’s digital image without first transforming the brand.
We introduced the concept of overlapping circles to represent connection and community while also introducing some brighter colors and more modern font treatment.
We also decided to design two sub-brands for the organization’s keystone yearly events to help with marketing efforts.
As part of the project, 118Group was responsible for fully auditing and rewriting the organization’s website content. The existing website presented large blocks of unapproachable text that wasn’t particularly inspiring or motivating.
The new content we developed for the site is meant to inspire action while being easy to scan and read.
One of the major focuses of this project was to introduce a new donation experience to the website. The old website was redirecting users to PayPal to capture donations.
(We’ve written extensively about the shortcomings of using a tool like PayPal for your donor experience so be sure to check that content out if you’re curious)
We helped guide the leadership at Falmouth VIPS to a new tool that would work for them, ultimately choosing GiveButter to capture donations. Rather than redirecting users to a stale PayPal page, now we are better able to control the donation experience.
As part of our project with Falmouth VIPS, we worked with the client to streamline the many different tools in their tech ecosystem.
Before working with us on this project, leadership was manually spending time moving data from one system to another, for example, moving recent donation data from PayPal to their CRM.
After a few workshops with the client, we were able to automate much of the work that was being done manually by introducing new tools that work better together.
The new website is nothing short of a complete transformation. Everything from the brand identity and messaging to the donation experience and client experience were addressed and improved over the course of this project.
Dylan and his team are super responsive and truly invested in our happiness as customers. I’ve been involved with a number of website designs/updates over my career and I have never experienced a team that is so in tune with a client’s needs/wants as they have been. I highly recommend 118Group!
